Paris-based European defence tech firm Comand AI has announced a €32 million Series A funding round, led by Blossom Capital, with strategic investment from Saab, and with Expeditions renewing its participation in the company.
“The round will support the expansion of Comand AI’s AI-native command-and-control platform, Prevail, across NATO markets and into new operational domains,” said Comand AI.
“Comand AI is building defence software for an era in which armed forces must command increasingly complex operations involving autonomous systems, distributed sensors and machine-speed decision-making.
“Its platform, Prevail, has been deployed with operational units in France, Germany, Ukraine and other allied nations over the past twelve months.
“The Series A will support the continued deployment of Prevail across France and wider NATO markets, further product development with operational units in Ukraine, and the industrialisation of the platform for adoption at scale.
“The funding will also support Comand AI’s expansion into additional operational domains, including air, which is already underway, and maritime, which will follow before the end of the year.
“Saab’s strategic investment establishes a new agreement between the two companies, focused on giving Saab a world-class AI and software product partner to accelerate the spiral development of current and next generation defence capabilities.
“The collaboration will include the development of new software capabilities for GlobalEye, Saab’s multi-role airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft; work on the foundations of a next-generation C2 ecosystem; and the modernisation of existing C2 products through the integration of Prevail.”
