Xoople, Madrid earth data firm, raises €115m

Xoople, the Madrid-based earth data, intelligence and AI firm, announced that it successfully closed its latest equity round, bringing the total raised to €115 million.

The company said: “Xoople shareholders are a mix of Spanish and international investors, including CDTI, a public entity under the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities and AXIS, a venture capital manager wholly owned by Instituto de Crédito Oficial (ICO).

“Xoople is one of few companies classified as a Strategic Enterprise by CDTI, and one of the largest investments in its Innvierte program.

“CDTI’s significant investment in Xoople, recognizes the potential in the category and for Spain to be a driver in the next iteration of Earth Data.

“The decision also underscores the Spanish government’s understanding that nurturing cutting-edge advancements in AI and deep tech are critical to building global competitive advantage …

“As a Spanish-born data and AI company with a global reach, we are powering the next generation of Earth Data to achieve a systematic understanding of the physical changes on the surface of the Earth. Our revolutionary system will enable the new age of EarthAI, empowering businesses and communities with ready-to-use insights.

“Our potential to be the catalyst in bolstering the development of the AI-based economy is also recognized by the support of Spanish institutions, including the Spanish Space Agency (Agencia Espacial Española).”

Xoople said that core to its proposition is a collaboration with Microsoft, which is providing substantial Azure services to meet customer data processing demands.

Xoople’s partner ecosystem also includes Esri, the world’s largest geospatial software company.

Xoople CEO Fabrizio Pirondini said: “We are humbled and grateful that our investors and partners share our vision to develop and fuel the new era of EarthAI. In our volatile world, the ability to quickly detect and precisely understand changes on the Earth’s surface is more crucial than ever.

“As the world’s first purpose-built Earth Intelligence service, Xoople will open endless possibilities, delivering a trusted, global source of data that helps make sense of the world we live in. We are excited to be at the forefront of the transformational possibilities of EarthAI.”

Teresa Riesgo, CDTI President and Secretary General for Innovation in the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, said: “Our investment in Xoople reflects Spain’s commitment to innovation and technological sovereignty.

“What sets Xoople apart — even within our strong national portfolio of deep tech companies — is its potential to power enterprise AI systems in Spain and beyond.

“By helping us better understand and respond to what’s happening on the surface of the Earth, Xoople is strengthening Spain’s digital future, while also contributing to Europe’s broader goals for resilience. The moment is now, and it’s a privilege to support a homegrown company with such far-reaching potential.”

Juan Carlos Cortés Pulido, Spanish Space Agency (AEE) Director, said: “Xoople is building a new era of Earth Observation, called EarthAI. Importantly, it’s one that empowers people to make smarter, more informed decisions.

“The company’s vision aligns with our mission to improve daily life by turning data into something actionable. Their commitment to using AI and Earth data to tackle some of the world’s more pressing challenges speaks volumes. It will help shape a better and more sustainable future for communities worldwide.”
